(MAY 14) - What's worst than a snitch or a rat? To NJweedman: A pothead who votes to convict a fellow head!

On Wednesday (May 9th) late night after the trial HUNG JURY/SPLIT decision verdict was announced I made this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htc_PjMLmiQ ), and put it on my website njweedman.com and gave a phone interview to the Trentonian and forwarded the youtube video to them. The Trentonian put this story online (http://www.trentonian.com/article/20120510/NEWS01/120519982/nj-weedman-vows-to-fight-on ) that night, along with the link to the video. It then also ran in the Friday edition of the Trentonian hardcopy. ------> READ MORE »

I "REFUSE" TO BE ANOTHER JOHN RAY WILSON

I recently mailed the below "letter to the editor" to dozens of newspapers in New Jersey so far none have elected to print it as a OP-ED ( I should have included a gram of weed) but I'm sure the REPORTERS who cover my case will read this and it will influence their stories. Why Jurors Should Refuse to Convict Drug Arrestees

Jurors are not required to enforce unjust laws, and can legally refuse to convict a person, even if he or she appears to be guilty.

Should juries vote “not guilty” on low-level marijuana charges to send a message about our country’s insane marijuana arrest policy? Paul Butler, former federal prosecutor and law professor of George Washington University made a powerful argument for jury nullification in an op-ed in Tuesday’s New York Times. READ MORE »

4/20/2010 Press Release - NJWeedman enlists JURY NULLIFICATION DEFENSE

On April 1, 2010, Ed Forchion, aka NJWeedman made headlines. He was busted in New Jersey with a pound of cannibus in the trunk of his car. April Fool’s Day was playing itself out in full glory. The man, notorious for his run-ins with the New Jersey law, now a transplant living in California and dispensing medical marijuana legally on a daily basis, returns home to get….arrested! And so the saga continues for NJWeedman, America’s most prominent Black activist for the legalization of marijuana.

Ironically, as the owner of his own medical marijuana dispensary in Hollywood, CA now, his arrest was a coup of sorts for the New Jersey police. READ MORE »

Jury selection to continue in NJWeedman trial ( May 2nd )

MOUNT HOLLY — Jury selection will continue Thursday in the marijuana possession and distribution trial of activist Ed “NJWeedman” Forchion.

The sides began selecting jurors Tuesday after Superior Court Judge Charles Delehey again told Forchion, who is representing himself, that he could not use the state’s medical marijuana law in his defense. The state has five of its 10 challenges remaining; Forchion has two of his original 10. READ MORE »

All eyes are on Weedman ( May 2, 2012 )

A half-dozen supporters of Ed “Weedman” Forchion stood outside the Burlington County Courthouse early Tuesday. It was raining.

Three times they were told to move, even though they had permission to be there from the Burlington County Board of Freeholders’ office.

THE WEEDMAN HEADS TO COURT ( 4/25/2012)

Forchion, dreadlocks falling across his face, sat in a booth at the Dolphin

Diner on Route 130 in Burlington Township, explaining how he plans victory “for potheads everywhere.”

“I win this case, I’m a hero, a legend. One juror — just one — that’s all I need,” he said. “I think I’ll be able to tell who, too. You know how some people have ‘gaydar’ — they can tell who’s gay? I have ‘weedar.’ I can tell who’s cool with weed.”

He’ll look for that person in a courtroom at the county courthouse in Mount Holly, where his trial for possession of a pound of pot is set to begin May 1.

Forchion, 47, is known as NJWeedman, a celebrity among dedicated marijuana smokers. READ MORE »

NJWEEDMAN TRIAL POSTPONED – says reporter ( April 5th, 2012)

The local press in New Jersey report on NJWeedman’s arrival in New Jersey for his trial. Unfortunately the trial has been postponed according to these same reporters covering the case. Forchion says, “the court didn’t tell me anything, the Judge didn’t tell me anything about postponing my trial. Daniel Camille of the Burlington County times told me when I arrived for a interview that court workers told her the trial has been postponed” (http://www.phillyburbs.com/news/crime/njweedman-back-in-garden-state-for-trial/article_39c80f4a-274a-5749-9b6e-74e389e4f6a7.html).
